Swedish Relaxation Massage

$90 per 60 Minutes Hands-On

From AMTA: "Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility."

Many of my clients find that Swedish massage helps them to unwind and some fall in and out of sleep while on the table which is fine and good.  You are in safe hands.

Integrative Reflexology®

$60-80 per 60 Minutes Hands-On

This from AMTA: "Reflexology is a type of bodywork that focuses on applying pressure to the specific nerve zones in your feet. Unlike other foot massages that intend to mostly relieve tension in the feet themselves, reflexology is a far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body. According to reflexology, every part of the human body is mapped into your feet. Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions such as allergies, headaches, and depression."

I was trained in-person by and practiced upon Claire Marie Miller, LMT, NCBTMB#049535 in November 2013 and completed additional home-study course in November 2014.

There is a very personable approach with the pressure of touch to the feet after a soaking bath.  The techniques used will relax and destress, decrease congestion, reduce swelling and increase circulation of blood and lymph among other benefits.  There is no need for undressing other than the feet.  I will look forward to hearing how this technique affects your next couple of days!

Medical Massage for Geriatrics

$60 per 60 Minutes Hands-On

From AMTA: "Geriatric massage is a form of massage designed to meet the specific needs of the elderly. It helps to improve blood circulation, relieve pain, and also increase range of motion. If you are elderly, geriatric massage can help you maintain and improve your overall health, as well as regain certain physical functions that have been reduced due to aging. In addition, since the elderly don't typically receive enough physical touch, this massage can also help alleviate symptoms of loneliness or depression."

I studied Medical Massage for Geriatrics along with Massage for Parkinson's and Stroke with Harold Packman for 13 Continuing Education Hours in 2009.  I keep many of his booklets and publications as reference.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

$90 per 60 Minutes Hands-On

This is a very light technique without pressure.  Recommended when pitting edema is present.

AMTA wrote "Lymphatic Drainage Therapy aims to gently and rhythmically move the lymph through the body, especially swollen areas of the body, relieving pressure and enhancing the functioning of the immune system. As both a preventative and remedial technique, LD can be used for a wide range of purposes including faster recovery from injury, reduction of swelling and discomfort from pregnancy, and strengthened resistance to illness."

I have studied Foundations of MLD in the U.S. with Elisa DiFalco, MS, OT, CLT-LANA

Her technique is used by medical professionals around the country.  Results may be see instantly!

Hot Stone Therapy

$90 per 60 Minutes Hands-On

Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.

I incorporate a moving hot stone technique after applying an all natural oil and assessing skin and muscle tissue with my hands using light to medium pressure.

Sports Massage

From AMTA: "Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function."

I learned much about sports massage while volunteering at health fairs and marathons.   I also have benefited from these techniques with my children who play sports.

Before a workout: medium pressure with energizing thought.

After a workout: light pressure with concentration upon rejuvinating the tissue.  You may hear me say "pull the muscle from the bone" and although it sounds strange, it feels wonderful!
